Influencer marketing is a collaboration between brands and popular social media users to promote their products or services.

Influencers are categorized into five different sizes (nano, micro, medium, macro and mega) depending on the number of followers they have:

1. Nano influencers have less than 10,000 followers.

2. Micro influencers number between 10,000 and 50,000.

3. Mid-level influencers number between 50,000 and 100,000.

4. Macro influencers number more than 500,000.

5. Mega influencers are powerful and have more than one million followers.

Partnering with an influencer with millions of followers may sound like a dream come true, but it may not be the best fit for your brand. Some social media influencers have large audiences with diverse demographics. Others have smaller but more targeted and engaged communities.
